Before the murder, Ross said: “Ruth, she won’t let it go with me, and I’m afraid this cloak feels a bit like it might be pulled tightly around my neck.”
Burns warned that “it could backfire on you”, but Ross responded: “Look, if I was a traitor, I wouldn’t have done it.”
It follows former Olympic diver Tom Daley and never Tear Us Apart singer paloma faithwho have already been murdered by traitors, while YouTube star Nico Omilana, known for his online prank videos, and eastenders actress tameka empson Both have been voted on in separate roundtable discussions.
For the episode’s challenge, the contestants were divided in half, with one group that went into the forest and the other that remained in the palace garden.
Those in the forest were tasked with asking a group of banshees to sing, before delivering their songs to those in the garden.
The contestants present in the garden then listened to the songs with their heads bowed down to the second well and matched them with the locket bearing the same song to add cash to the prize fund.
The group raised £4,000 during the task, and the garden group were then asked to find a shield in the garden, with a locket indicating where they should look in a watering can.

Ross got the shield but chose to give it to TV presenter Stephen Fry.
Later, Ross said: “Stephen got the shield, partly because I let him get it, and afterwards it made me worry, is this suspicious?
“But no, it’s not suspicious, because that’s how the Loyalists are playing the game, whose turn is it to shield? What the hell is this?”
At the beginning of the roundtable, Fry suggested that the contestants not discuss their theories and instead vote without speaking, but he was rejected.
During the roundtable, actor Nick Mohammed and TV historian David Olusoga were accused of being traitors, but Ross and Balding were most criticized.
Balding told Ross that killing Cod would be a “classic traitor move”, to which Ross replied: “I’m going to remind you of what Nico said to all of us and which we didn’t hear, which was, ‘Why would you put a target on your back when you don’t need to?’
After he was relegated, Ross said: “How am I still here? I’ve become the luckiest traitor in the history of the game, without even working on it, the loyalists have done the dirty work for us.”
Elsewhere during the beginning of the episode, Carr teased actress Celia Imrie about Breaking Wind during Wednesday’s episode.
While playing a game of badminton, he said to her: “Cilia, we need some air to get it up there.”
He replied: “Oh, shut up.”
Before the challenge, when comedian Lucy Beaumont said, “You know what you do in a well, right?” Imri laughed even more, to which he replied: “Put the cat in.”
Sports presenter Balding, who had a shield, was also embarrassed when former rugby player Joe Marler asked him if he and actor Mark Bonner slept well, to which he replied: “We did, well, not together.”
At the end of the show, the traitors revealed in the turret that they would murder either Welsh singer Charlotte Church, Olusoga or TV presenter Kate Garraway, with Carr commenting that the murder would “rock the boat”.
