One more shooting in Kolkata ahead of Durga Puja, one was found dead

On September 22 (IANS), a day after a shootout at Charu Bazaar in Kolkata, Kolkata, on Monday, another shooting incident from the Garden Reach area was reported, in which a person was found dead, police said.

The body of a young man was found in the morning with a bullet wounds near the DC Port office in the garden access area. It is learned that the locals came to the spot after hearing the gun sound. He informed the West Port Police Station after searching the body there, and the police station personnel reached the spot.

According to police, the body of the young man was covered in plastic. Police said a revolver and a bag were found next to the body.

A Kolkata Police police officer said, “A dead body was recovered this morning. Efforts are being made to identify the young man on the basis of clues from that bag.” Police said the young man was shot in the head. The police have sent the bodies for the autopsy. It is learned that the incident occurred at around 9.45 pm.

The police officer said, “Prima Facial, it appears that the attackers killed the young man and after putting arms in the victim’s hand, the scene ran away, so that it seems that the man committed suicide. We are investigating all possible angles.”

Police said the issue of importing weapons to Kolkata from other states during the puja season cannot be rejected.

On Sunday morning, there was a firing incident in a gym in the Charu Bazaar area, when two unidentified individuals entered the facility wearing a raincoat and sports helmet and shot a couple of bullets from firearms that they were carrying.

However, fortunately, no one was injured.

After firing the bullets, both shooters fled from the spot. The police have started investigating the case and suspect that the owner of the gym was the target.
