Elon Musk has many dreams, but his biggest mission has to be the day when people colonize Mars. The owners of X and Tesla are clearly fascinated by the prospect of humanity raising the flag on another planet, and Musk is ready to deploy all his resources to send a million people to Mars in the foreseeable future.

“We are developing a plan to send a million people to Mars. Even if the supply ships from the Earth no longer come, Mars can survive and civilization will pass through the single-planet great filter.” This is what Musk said earlier this week A response to a user on the X platform.

SpaceX is also Musk’s company, tasked with turning the great dream of Mars into reality. He has been calling for a colony on the Red Planet for more than several years.

In fact, as early as 2011, Musk claimed that humans would land on Mars within the next 10 years, but currently we know that this goal has not been achieved. Musk has changed his timetable for landing humans on Mars, saying that by 2029, he expects some people to travel to the Red Planet to begin a mission to colonize Mars, ultimately realizing his desire for humans to become a multi-planetary species.

While it’s exciting to hear Musk talk about his plans to land humans on Mars, there are a lot of variables he will need to get the technology proficient enough to handle these operations and meet his requirements to accomplish it on a reusable rocket, which is an ambitious one. The plan is fine. Getting people to Mars is a challenge in itself.

NASA is planning its first mission to Mars, and astronauts may be involved. It may take Musk longer than 2029 to realize his plans, but it’s hard to underestimate his ambition when all he dreams about is sending humans to Mars.
