Bhopal, November 1 (IANS) Senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Saturday greeted the citizens of Madhya Pradesh on its 70th Foundation Day, saying ‘a new direction’ is needed for the industrial and economic development of the state.
On this occasion, the former Chief Minister said in a statement, “Madhya Pradesh is the heart of the country. Cultural diversity and natural diversity are its identity. Now the time has come when Madhya Pradesh will have to think afresh in the direction of industry and employment.”
Kamal Nath, who has been active in the politics of Madhya Pradesh for more than 45 years (since 1980, 24 years after the establishment of the state), said that since its establishment on November 1, 1956, Madhya Pradesh has always played an important role in the production of food grains for the entire country.
He said, “The credit for this achievement goes to more than eight crore people of Madhya Pradesh.”
During this, Kamal Nath also talked about the economic situation of Madhya Pradesh and the increasing debt.
“It is very important that we increase our Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) to such a level that Madhya Pradesh becomes a developed state,” he said.
At the same time, in the statement issued on this special occasion, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has highlighted the efforts and achievements of Madhya Pradesh under his leadership from January 2024 till now.
Chief Minister Yadav said that starting from Ujjain in March 2024, the BJP-led state government launched an investment campaign that reached Gwalior, Jabalpur, Sagar, Rewa, Shahdol, Narmadapuram and further spread to Mumbai, Coimbatore, Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi, UK, Germany, Japan and Dubai.
He said, “Madhya Pradesh is undergoing a remarkable transformation driven by investment, innovation and employment. In the last two years, the state has achieved historic progress in industry, agriculture, dairy, energy, environment and social empowerment.”
The state is celebrating its 70th Foundation Day under the theme “Abhyudaya Madhya Pradesh” from November 1 to 3.
Chief Minister Yadav will inaugurate the event and release the Central Government’s ‘Vision 2047’ document outlining priorities in key sectors.
The main program will be held at Lal Parade Ground on Saturday evening from 6:30 pm.
On Saturday, the opening day of the 70th Formation Day, 500 artistes will perform depicting the life of Lord Krishna, followed by a drone show with 2,000 drones and a live concert by popular singer Jubin Nautiyal.
Tribal artistes will perform traditional dances including Bhagoriya, Karma, Pardhoni and Gangore.
The event will conclude with a grand fireworks display on Saturday evening.
