On PM Modi’s 75th birthday, remembering his spiritual journey of Kailash Mansarovar

New Delhi, 17 September (IANS) ‘Kailash Mansarovar Yatra: A Journey of Grit and Glory’ – is how the Holy Mount Kailash in 1988 is being remembered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s religious pilgrimage on his 75th birthday.

Then a BJP worker Narendra Modi made a difficult journey for Mount Kailash, Lord Shiva’s residence and one of the most popular spiritual centers of Hindus, and led a group of devotees on a memorable journey.

He traced the difficult areas of the Himalayas on foot, passed through the most combined points of the journey and inspired the entire group of devotees with his calm endurance and unwavering resolve.

A popular handle Modi Archive on social media dug up his archial paintings and shared the photographs never seen before the spiritual journey.

It said that Narendra Modi started a pilgrimage, in which some people dared to dream, in 1988, the holy Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and his group was among the eight selected batch with a total of 200 participants.

“The fifteen -day trek started, with every step tested with steep climbing, hard weather, and high altitude. Although horses were available, PM Modi chose to walk, often reaching each stop before others. His quiet endurance and unbreakable resolution inspired the group, which became a living example of grit on the face of compatibility,” said this.

Sharing more details of the extraordinary journey, it says that when the group reached Dolma Pass, one of the highest and most combined points of the journey, the group faced a crisis because they forgot Dia for worship. But calm and resourceful Modi burnt one with his hand, and the pilgrims joined the Aarti song of Lord Shankara.

Here, PM Modi got a glimpse of extreme poverty and people’s sufferings and was deeply shifted, an experience that he had seen as RSS practitioners during his service earlier.

“By the end of the journey, the journey had tested every border – physical, mental and spiritual. But it also reveals a truth that will echo in Modi’s life: the true leadership emerges when the journey is the most difficult, bets are the most, and when someone chooses service,” says Modi collection.

This extraordinary journey to mount Kailash shaped PM Modi’s ideas and strengthened the importance of advancing ‘Seva (Seva)’ in daily life.

‘Seva resolution is, India is the first inspiration,’ the slogan marking PM Modi’s 75th birthday is a detailed reflection of this learning, which was received years ago.
