On Environment Day, Sekena Itu insisted on linking the youth with nature

Srinagar, June 12: Minister of Health and Medical Education, Minister of Social Welfare and Education, Sekena Itu today emphasized the immediate need to re -join the younger generation, especially college and school going students with nature and great environmental leadership.

The Minister made these comments today while addressing a gathering organized on the backdrop of World Environment Day -2025 Week celebrations, which is in the ceremony at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) Kothibagh here today.

Director School Education Kashmir, Dr. GN Itu; Chief Education Officer, Srinagar; Principal GGHSS Kothibagh, Head, faculty members and large number of students of various institutions in Srinagar district were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, the Education Minister said that the weather of Kashmir is seeing a huge change due to deforestation and other related activities. He emphasized the immediate requirement of the hour, promoting environmental leadership between nature and younger generation as well as school and college going students.

“Environmental protection is not just a policy issue, it is an individual responsibility. Each of us has the power to influence the changes starting with our homes, schools and communities”, Sakna Itu said.

The minister called all the participants to make trees a regular habit, saying that we need to work collectively, which to attract our Kashmir to attract the world to go to the world to bring back to attract attractions and environmental conditions.

On this occasion, the Education Minister also praised GGHSS Kothibagh for educational excellence, stating that government institutions are equal to private schools these days. He said that the holders of today’s various government institutions have shown it.

The minister also said that selections in professional examinations like NEET, Gate and Others, along with prestigious examinations like IAS and KAS, are usually alumni of government institutions. He said that the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah is giving more encouragement to education and health sectors as he creates columns of any developed society.

On this occasion, Sakeena ITOO also praised the young students of GGHSS Kothibagh for their active role in promoting green initiatives and urged them to become a lifetime ambassador for nature.

In his reception address, Principal GGHSS Kothibagh spoke widely to the program. He also thanked the minister for continuous support.

On this occasion, the Education Minister saw the toppers of the 10th and 12th grade examinations of various institutions. He also harassed the students of Bal Raksha India on this occasion.

The minister also unveiled GGHSS Kothibagh school Tarana during the program.

On this occasion, the students offered various cultural performances, which reflect the lively culture and ethos of our valley.

Earlier, Sakeena iToo inspected the stalls set up by the students of Green School eco-Club showing various products and innovations for environmental protection and protection. He also inspected the wall of the school’s biodiversity. (KDC)
