Omar -led government committed for the overall development of every section of society in J&K: Sakeena iToo

Health and Medical Education Minister, Minister of Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena ITO inaugurated the Out PTI (OPD), Ayush and Wellness Center and many other important sections of the Truma Hospital at Bijbehara here today.

Addressing a major gathering on the occasion, Sekena Itu said that the present government under the leadership of Omar Abdullah is committed to the overall development of every region and section of society in Jammu and Kashmir. “This government is formed by the votes and trusts of the people and, thus, we are committed to tireless efforts for the welfare and development of our people”, Sakna said.

He said, “Our last seven months of rule the report card shows that Jammu and Kashmir are back on the track of development in every field, whether it is health, education or other social sector.”

The minister further said that medical infrastructure is being upgraded to Jammu and Kashmir, besides a adequate push has also been given for the recruitment of other paramedical employees along with medical officers. “In the last few months, this government recruited more than three hundred doctors and posted them in the necessary areas for the upliftment of medical care facilities” Sakna said. He said that a large number of doctors were also deployed to strengthen medical care services from ground level in rural areas, which is the main objective of the current Omar Abdullah government.

On this occasion, the minister advised the people to make the best use of this newly established AYUSH and Wellness Center.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Srigufwara-Bijbehara, Dr. Bashir Ahmed Veeri presented a detailed memorandum related to various developmental needs related to health and education sectors in his constituency.

The minister assured them that these demands would be taken with urgency and will be fulfilled on priority basis.

After the opening ceremony, Seekena Itu also took a detailed round of Trauma Hospital and assessed its functioning. He interacted with doctors and other employees, emphasizing the availability of all important care tools and other drugs. He said that this hospital is very important during emergency as it is located on the occasion of the National Highway.

During the opening ceremony, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Anantnag informed the minister about the limit of facilities available in the advanced sections of the hospital. He informed the minister about the current infrastructure, deployment of manpower and services.

Later, the minister visited Government Degree College (GDC) Bijbehar and Government Girls Higher Secondary School Bijbehar, where he made a comprehensive review of the current infrastructure, educational environment and faculty posts. He personally interacted with the students and inquired about their educational needs and institutional needs. On this occasion, the students shared suggestions and concerns with the minister.

While interacting with him, Sekena Itu assured the students that their issues would be immediately addressed.

Talking to the faculty during the journey, the minister emphasized the importance of quality education and underlined the government’s approach to upgrading both physical and educational facilities in educational institutions in Jammu and Kashmir.

Among others, the minister is an MLA, Srigufwara-Bizbehar, Dr. Bashir Ahmed was with Veeri; Director College, Director Social Welfare, Kashmir, Director School Education Kashmir, Director Ayush, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Anantnag, Medical Superintendent and other senior officials of Health, Social Welfare and Education Departments.
