The case has been adjourned till November 17.
Ola, represented by lawyer Shyamsundar in the court, said that a case of unnatural death has been registered, hence it is not murder. The investigation is being conducted under the Unnatural Death Report (UDR) case.
He said that the company has paid all the dues to the deceased.
The court directed the police to continue the investigation as a death note was found. At the beginning of the investigation, the police had registered a UDR case. The matter has to be further investigated after receiving the note and FIR.
On October 23, the victim’s family approached the Karnataka Human Rights Commission seeking intervention in the case. The brother of the deceased engineer has filed a formal complaint, and the Commission has acknowledged the receipt citing the case number. A case was registered after 38-year-old Arvind, who was employed with Ola Electric since 2022, was found dead at his Bengaluru residence on September 28. The 28-page handwritten note recovered from the incident site reportedly mentions workplace tension and names senior executives, including CEO Bhavish Aggarwal.
The FIR, lodged under section 108 of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS), names Aggarwal and senior officer Subrata Kumar Das on charges of abetment of suicide.
