Odisha police arrested C exam scam, 117 arrested including 114 aspirants

Bhubaneswar, October 1 (IANS) In a big crack on the recruitment of recruitment, Odisha Police has arrested 117 persons, including 114 aspirants and three middlemen, for their alleged participation in the upcoming sub-sub-recruitment examination scam.

The Odisha police said in a press statement on Wednesday, “The upcoming Odisha Police Recruitment Board (OPRB) received confidential information about a huge misconduct related to the sub -inspector examination.

During the verification, police officials found that there were 117 passengers in the three buses intercepted by the police on Monday night, out of which 114 persons applied for the recruitment of sub-inspectors for the upcoming Joint Police Service Examination (CPSE)- 2024, which was to be held on 5 and 6 October.

As this suspect appeared, the police started an investigation into the case and found that 114 candidates boarded three buses near Baramunda in Bhubaneswar and were traveling to an unknown place in Vijayanagaram by the other three brokers. These three agents were working on behalf of other agents in turn.

“It was further discovered that they are all engaged in an organized crime of vandalizing the upcoming sub -inspector examination. They were planned to secretly receive a confidential question paper in Vijayanagaram and then return to Bhubaneswar and appear in the examination.

During the investigation, the police also found that the racket included many more brokers, and there are efforts to arrest others.

The police is investigating the case by registering a case at Golanthara police station in Berhampur police district. The case has been registered under sections 319 (2), 318 (4), 338, 336 (3), 340 (2), 111, 61 (2), 3 (5) BNS, sec 11 (1)/12 (1).

All 117 persons arrested will be sent to court on Wednesday.

After the scam arrives, OPRB canceled the written examination of 2024, to be held on 5 and 6 October on Tuesday. On December 20, 2024, Odisha Police released an advertisement for the recruitment of 933 posts of sub-inspectors.

Police sources revealed that about 1.53 lakh candidates have applied for CPSE, 2024.

After canceling the examination, Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday slammed the state government when the examination was postponed, called it a systematic failure of the government.
