Bhubaneswar, 7 October (IANS) The 36-hour curfew imposed in Cuttack has been removed as normal in the city after the violence on 5 October, informed by the Commissioner of Police on Tuesday.
Talking to media persons, Singh said, “The 36-hour curfews installed in Cuttack ended at 10 am today. The situation is normal and under strict supervision. The patrolling and stable deployment of security forces will continue at sensitive places across the city.”
He said, “After the incident of violence and stone tampering on 5 October, the police were forced to use the force, implementing a 36 -hour curfew. As there was no incident of violence during the curfew period and peace was strong, the curfew was raised at 10 am today.”
The Police Commissioner also revealed that another person was arrested in connection with the violent clash on Sunday, in which the total number of arrests in the case had increased to nine.
During an attack on a Durga Puja immersion procession on Friday night in view of fresh violence in Cuttack during a bike rally organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on 5 October, officials have imposed a curfew in many sensitive areas of the city for the next 36 hours.
During a conversation with reporters, Twin City Police Commissioner Singh also said that internet services in the city will be restored on the basis of the situation.
On Monday, the state government had extended suspension of internet services in Cuttack City by 7 pm on 7 October, to spread rumors on the possible misuse of social networking sites and the possible misuse of promised message services by anti -social elements to spread rumors and harass peace and peace in the city.
About 60 Plato of the police force and six companies of the Central Armed Police Force were deployed in the city to bring back to normal condition.
