The most interesting thing is that you can connect glasses to garmin devices To hear live workout stats like heart rate or speed through the built-in speaker. Plus, you can sync them with Strava to overlay your activity data onto clips recorded after a session.

The Oakley Meta Vanguard are smart glasses designed for athletes, engineered for outdoor sports, running and riding. They’ve got a full wraparound frame that houses a focused 12MP camera and a wide 122-degree field of view, which is ideal for sports like skiing. With IP67 dust and water resistance, they’re even sturdier than Ray-Bans, and last longer, offering up to nine hours of use on a single charge, or up to six hours with music playback.
The audio has also been upgraded. Meta says the speakers are 6dB louder than previous Oakley HSTNs, and there’s a new five-mic array to help block out noise and wind. This will help when you’re talking to a meta or taking a call while out running. They also now support slow-motion recording at 120fps and feature a Hyperlapse mode, which can record up to 30 minutes.
The biggest change, however, is that they now work with both Garmin and Strava. You can pair the glasses with a Garmin smartwatch or cycling computer to hear live stats like your heart rate, speed or elevation, simply by asking. The glasses can also auto-record clips when you hit certain milestones, like increased heart rate or altitude climbed. You can then overlay your performance data from Garmin or Strava directly onto footage in the Meta View app to share after your workout.
Like all Meta smart glasses, they’re powered by Meta AI, so you can talk to them naturally (just like you do with ChatGPT) and get real-time answers about your surroundings or workout. You can ask them to play music, send messages, or make hands-free video calls. They cost £499 and come in black or white frames with a choice of gold, blue, pink or dark brown lenses.
