Nuno Spirit then insists west ham united Showing some fight in the Premier League relegation battle is “non-negotiable”.

team leader Jarrod Bowen Claimed after 2-2 draw brighton It was the first time he saw his teammates having “emotion and fighting.”

The Hammers lead 2-1 and could have reduced the safety gap to two points as Nottingham Forest lost to Everton.

Given that the forest is the next visitor london stadiumWest Ham United’s future will suddenly look brighter.

But Joel Veltman’s equalizer left the Hammers still in deep trouble, without a win in their last eight games.

Hammers coach Nuno said: “We felt it. We wanted to play today so we can get things done. We are looking to improve.”

“We are desperately chasing a win to give something back to our fans so we can feel for everyone. To be more realistic in terms of performance and change we are getting away from our results.

“But looking at the reaction, we can’t say enough about the team spirit of these boys and the way they help each other.

“It’s non-negotiable. Every game should be like this. You can’t say it and be surprised by it. It has to be part of who we are.”

Lucas Paqueta conceded a second penalty when he rugby tackled Lewis Dunk, but the Brazilian stepped up to restore West Ham’s lead when the Brighton captain was ruled to have had the ball.

Dunk took his arm away from his body when blocking Callum Wilson’s goal-scoring shot and it took a lengthy VAR check to penalize Dunk, something Seagulls boss Fabian Huerzeller was not convinced of.

“No one can say it was a clear hand, the VAR footage wasn’t clear enough so it’s just a guess,” the German said.

“In the best league in the world, to make decisions based on mere speculation, I don’t think that’s possible.”

Welbeck’s first penalty was fatal, but his ‘panenka’ attempt backfired when the ball bounced off the crossbar.

Fortunately, Brighton equalized from a corner kick, and Alphonse Areola’s punch found the unmarked Veltman to simply complete the goal.

“Danny made the decision,” Hezler added. “If he executes it well, everyone will say it’s a good penalty in a pressure situation. So he’s got our backs. There’s no criticism.”
