Koppal (Karnataka), October 6 (IANS) commented on the ‘November Revolution’, a lot of discussion within the state Congress unit, indicating a leadership change in Karnataka, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday clarified that the so -called ‘Kranti’ is an illusion.
“No revolution will take place in November. All this is an illusion,” he underlined.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was talking to reporters at an event, where he inaugurated the new 450-bed teaching hospital building and a Dharamshala built by Kopal District Administration and District Panchayat, and also laid the foundation stone for the Super Specialty Hospital.
Meanwhile, Congress MLA and CM’s Economic Advisor, Basavaraj Rerededi, while addressing the gathering in Kopal announced that the Siddaramaiah would continue as the Chief Minister for the remaining 2.8 years of the tenure of the government.
“During this period, under the leadership of CM Siddaramaiah, we will develop more. We have no difference; we are united. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will remain CM till the next elections,” said Reredi.
Rumors are roaming in the political circles of the state about a possible ‘November Revolution’ as Siddaramaiah will complete half of his five -year term.
Responding to these rumors of a power struggle for the top job, CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister and State Congress President DK Shivkumar have tried to scot him and emphasize many occasions that the Congress’s high command will be final on the issue of sharing power.
Even though Siddaramaiah has reiterated that he will remain CM for a full tenure, he has always maintained that he will follow the decision of high command.
On the other hand, Shivkumar has also insisted that the word of high command will be final and even a notice will be issued to his colleagues to make statements about leadership.
However, Shivkumar’s camp states that, according to the power-sharing agreement between the two at the time of the formation of the government, Siddaramaiah is expected to step down for Shivkumar.
On his behalf, Siddaramaiah’s camp dismissed the idea outright, insisting that he would complete the entire term.
Last week, Congress National General Secretary and MP, KC Venugopal, said when asked about the alleged power struggle in the party as CM, “Every time I come to Karnataka, the same question and the same agenda are raised. The Congress party has the ability to decide what should happen within our party.
