CCTV footage shows the moment a drunk driver crashed his car nottingham City landmark.
Melvin Mugambe, 20, broke into the corner of the Guildhall building at 4am on 4 December. No one was injured in the accident.
The car was badly damaged. The Grade II-listed building suffered no structural damage.
After being examined by paramedics, he was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a breathalyzer test recorded 59 micrograms of alcohol in 100 milliliters of breath, well over the legal limit.
Mugambe, of Church Street, Old Lenton, Nottingham, pleaded guilty to driving over the limit under the influence of alcohol and dangerous driving.
He was given a 16-month driving ban and ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work within 12 months. Mugambe must also pay £85 in court costs and £114 in victim surcharge.
