Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Saturday assured that after a road accident in Ramban, there are all necessary arrangements for the Amarnath Yatra pilgrims, in which 36 pilgrims suffered minor injuries.

In a post on the social media platform X, Singh wrote, “Now talked to DC #Ramban, Mr. Mohammad Angi Khan, after knowing about the road accident in Chandrakot, which included vehicles carrying Amarnath pilgrims. 36 pilgrims have suffered minor injuries, which are participating in the district hospital Ramban.

The incident occurred when the last vehicle of Pahalgam convoy lost control and collided with four stranded vehicles at the Chanderkot Langer site in Ramban.

Meanwhile, all the injured passengers in the collision were transferred by the district administration to the district hospital Ramban, which was already present on the site.

In a post on social media platform X, Deputy Commissioner (DEO) Ramban wrote, “The last vehicle of the Pahgam convoy lost control and hit the trapped vehicles on the Chanderkot Langer site, damaged 4 vehicles and caused minor injuries to 36 Yatris. The district administration was already present at the site, DH Ramban was already injured.

Ramban District Commissioner Mohammad Angeli Khan, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) DKR Sridhar Patil, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban Kulbir Singh, and Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Varunjit Singh Charak reached the hospital, monitored treatment, and directed the CMO to ensure the best possible care. Yatris was later transferred to other vehicles for his further travel.

Mohammad Rafi, Medical Superintendent in charge, DH Ramban said that any patient was sent to another hospital, further said that till now 10 patients were discharged and the rest would be discharged in the next hour.

“A bus carrying pilgrims for the Amarnath Yatra collided with another bus. We found a total of 36 injured patients. All the patients have been treated here, we have not referred to anyone to any other hospital. 10 patients have been discharged and in the next 1 hour, almost all patients will be discharged …” Rafi told Annie.
