Northern coastal Andhra flash floods can face CM review status

Visakhapatnam, 2 October (IANS) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday reviewed the situation due to heavy rains and strong winds in northern coastal Andhra and the threat of flash floods for three districts.

While organizing a video conference with the collectors of the northern coastal Andhra districts from his official residence in Amravati, Naidu inquired about the situation in the districts and directed the authorities to ensure uninterrupted power supply.

He said that in view of the warning from the Meteorological Department, some areas may face floods, administration should be alert and inform people.

The Chief Minister also asked the officials to provide necessary services to the people through a round-the-clock control room.

He said that teams should be ready to face any situation and, if necessary, people should be transferred to safe places.

Parts of the coastal Andhra received heavy rains with ugly winds on Thursday under deep depression in the Bay of Bengal.

According to Visakhapatnam Cyclone Warning Center, deep depression may cross the coast between Paradip and Gopalpur on Thursday night or early Friday.

Under its influence, at some places there is a possibility of heavy rains with heavy heavy rains along with heavy heavy rainfall, Srikakulam, Parvatipuram many more northern coastal Andhra Pradesh and Viziangaram districts of Yanam are expected to occur.

The Meteorological Office has issued a red warning for three districts, which is likely to receive more than 20 centimeters of rainfall. Flash floods may experience in these districts.

Visakhapatnam, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Anakapalli, Northern Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam districts are expected to receive heavy rains at one or two places. An orange warning has been issued for these districts.

Kakinada, Yanam, Dr. There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall at one or two places in the districts of Bram Ambedkar Konsema, Eastern Godavari and Northern Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Eluru districts of Yanam.

Prakhar Jain, Managing Director of Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA), said that there is a possibility of blowing strong winds at a speed of 40-60 kmph along the coast.
