Srinagar, August 05: Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj, Jammu and Kashmir have issued a strong explanation about a fake government order that has been widely broadcast on various social media platforms, which incorrectly claims that panchayat elections will be held after 2025 in the central region.
An alleged government notification of panchayat elections in the center region of Jammu and Kashmir-PR number: 45-RD and 2025 PR and 2025 PR and 05-08-2025 are being shared online. RDD & PR department officials have confirmed that no such order has been issued by the department, the documents are being issued, the documents are being issued.
Officials said the State Election Commission is the only competent authority to inform the program for panchayat elections, and no such time has been officially declared yet.
A senior official of the Rural Development Department said, “The general public is advised not to be victims of such misinformation. Fake government orders are a punishable offense under the Information Technology Act and the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.”
The department has urged citizens to rely only on official government channels and conduct verified communication for any update about elections or other administrative matters. Strict action is being initiated against those responsible for creating and sharing forged documents.
