Panaji, October 4 (IANS) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday rejected any tie-up with the Congress for the 2027 Goa assembly elections.
Kejriwal said, “There will be no alliance with the Congress under any circumstances,” Kejriwal said, claiming that some of the party’s Goa workers were open to join the hands with the grand old party before the assembly elections.
Talking to media persons after inaugurating a party office in Mayam, 16 kilometers from here, the AAP leader said that the people of Goa have been cheated the most by the Congress.
He said, “The Congress has become an MLA who has become an MLA for BJP for years. Can Congress give an assurance to Goa voters that no party MLA will switch to BJP in future,” he said.
The former Delhi Chief Minister said, “At least 13 Congress MLAs switched to BJP between 2017 and 2019. In 2022, 10 Congress MLAs replaced Flakes and joined the BJP.”
He said that if the AAP enters the alliance with the Congress, then it will be the amount to supply the MLAs to the BJP. “We do not want to be a part of any practice that facilitates the formation of the BJP government in Goa,” he said.
Kejriwal also vowed to offer a new political system by dumping the old, under which 13-14 political families BJP and Congress leaders have ruled Goa for years.
“This is a decay political system that includes BJP and Congress. The time has come to uproot this system and provide a new option to the residents of Goa,” he said.
Promising a new brand of people-centered politics and governance in Goa, Kejriwal said that under his government, the public will get the freedom to decide which projects in the state should be executed and how to make the optimal use of resources including land.
He earlier alleged that the state’s resources were under the control of 13–14 political families, who continue to change parties to remain in power and loot the state in Swiss banks and deposit money.
