Bengaluru, Oct 15 (IANS) Commenting on the move of Google’s AI hub to Andhra Pradesh, the Congress-led government in Karnataka on Wednesday said if the Telugu state offers more concessions, let the companies go there, and they will learn from the experience.
Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, who is also the Bengaluru Development Minister, said this while answering media questions at Vidhana Soudha on Wednesday.
“Can we say no to those going to Andhra? If they are going because more concessions are being given, then let them go. They will also learn from the experience,” he said.
Shivakumar responded to Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh, “In terms of infrastructure, human resources, innovation and research, no city in the country matches Bengaluru. Others talk about Bengaluru only for their marketing.”
On Nara Lokesh’s comment, the Deputy CM said, “Whether it is Nara Lokesh or anyone else, I will not react to his statements. 25 lakh IT professionals and 2 lakh foreigners work in Bengaluru. Bengaluru’s contribution to the country’s growth is huge. About 40 per cent of the Centre’s tax revenue comes from here. They talk about Bengaluru only to market themselves. Let them do whatever they want. Even if the Center does not support them, Please help.” Bengaluru cannot be matched.”
“We know how many foreign leaders are approaching us. I am sitting and discussing with IT and big industry ministers. Foreign companies, which till now were operating from rented spaces in Bengaluru, are now buying their land here after growth in the US. They are building their own campuses. This is the strength of Bengaluru,” he said.
On reports of loss of over Rs 1 lakh crore in investments in Karnataka, Shivakumar said, “Foreign delegations are constantly meeting me, ministers Priyank Kharge and MB Patil. On October 12, a trade delegation from Singapore is visiting Bengaluru. Many private universities and institutions are coming here to set up their campuses. No one will leave Bengaluru. We do not need to advertise by saying that we are making a big contribution.” Will give.” Concessions. The facilities available here are attracting investors.”
Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh has said that “If they (Karnataka government) are incompetent, what can I do? Their own industrialists say the infrastructure is bad, and there are power cuts. They should fix those problems first.”
Emphasizing Andhra Pradesh’s leadership, Lokesh called it a “double engine bullet train government” with a clear vision and the ability to complete projects quickly. “When states compete, India wins. I am not here for a Twitter(x) war,” he said.
