Patna, Patna, 23 September (IANS) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated on Tuesday and laid the foundation stone for 357 development projects worth Rs 1,198.86 crore on the nominated site of Velmicinagar, West Champaran.
The projects include inauguration of 237 schemes worth Rs 197.36 crore, the foundation of 114 schemes worth Rs 586.67 crore was laid by stone and the foundation stone of six schemes announced during the progress journey costing Rs 414.83 crore.
The Chief Minister also inspected the proposed fanatic eco-tourism park site and later interacted with Jeevika Didis, pensioners and other beneficiaries of government schemes at the Valmiki Auditorium Complex.
Following the Foundation Stone laying ceremony, Nitish Kumar addressed a large gathering in Bettia, where he developed visually emotionally, remembering his government’s development journey in West Champaran.
“You all know how much I love West Champaran. Whenever I start a tour, I start from here. I have a deep affection for this region. Earlier, people did not leave here even during the day. When our government came to power, we get rid of the bandits. Today, Champaran has changed, and I am very happy about it.
The Chief Minister listed the achievements of his government, including the appointment of more than 5 lakh teachers, inauguration of several medical colleges, free supply of 125 electricity units, expansion of old age pension and building employment opportunities for women.
He also underlined that Bihar has the highest representation of women among other states in Bihar.
Nitish Kumar stressed that his government has worked for all communities – Hinds and Muslims equally – cutting measures such as fencing for border walls and cemeteries for temples.
He accused the previous regime of promoting communal division.
He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that the Center is increasing significant support for the development of Bihar, and urged the workers to appreciate the Prime Minister.
The package of Rs 1,198.86 crore declared on Tuesday includes Rs 53 crore for the reconstruction of Betiyah Maharaja Stadium, Rs 12.45 crore for Degree College, Rs 77.70 crore for Madhubani, Don Canal Road, Rs 145 crore for MVMan Power Grid, RS 73.16 For Lavkush Park, many other basic structures and welfare schemes for Welfare Schemes with Welfare Schemes Ten million
