Nabin became the 12th national president of the BJP since its formation in 1980 – the same year he was born.
PM Modi congratulated Nabin on becoming BJP president. Modi said, “Nitin Nabin ji is now our president; his responsibility is not just limited to BJP but also to ensure coordination in the NDA. I am a party worker and Nitin Nabin is my boss in party-related matters.”
A low-profile leader, Nabeen had resigned from the post of Bihar’s Law and Justice, Urban Development and Housing Minister after being appointed the working president of the BJP on December 14.
Announcing the results, Laxman said the election reflected the BJP’s emphasis on organizational work more than dynasty. “This election shows that leadership in the BJP emerges from hard work and dedication, and not from dynastic privilege,” he said.
