it’s been 20 years since nick offerman and jim o’hair co-starred on parks and Recreation as the stubborn Ron Swanson and the affable Gary Gergich, respectively – but that doesn’t mean they’ve lost their friendly rapport.

Earlier this week, 63 year old O’Hare has shared a photo of himself on Instagram. and Offerman, 55, were at the airport together after coincidentally boarding the same flight to Indianapolis, Indiana.

“Nick and I were on the same flight. I didn’t know until we were about to land and he came on the speaker and started talking about Jerry, Gary [sic]Larry and Terry Gergich. It was amazing,” he wrote.

O’Hehir is best known for playing Gary, the office klutz, on the beloved sitcom. His character is often the butt of his colleagues’ jokes, and during the show’s seven seasons from 2009 to 2015, he collected several nicknames as a running gag after failing to correct an old boss who once called him Jerry.

She later shared a clip of the moment, saying: “Video has surfaced of @nickofferman pranking me on our flight to Indy. So great. I love that man.”

In the video, Offerman is seen talking into a flight attendant’s telecom to prepare passengers for landing.

,American Airlines “The flight attendants will be walking down the aisle to do a final security check before we land,” the Emmy-winning actor announced. “If you have any trash you want to throw out, please give it to them.

“And I always say don’t half-protect yourself, only do it all the way,” he quips before concluding with a final message for O’Hare: “If you’re traveling in areas like Muncie and your last name is Gergich, first name is Jerry, Larry, Barry or Gary, please be nice and travel safely.”

As Offerman goes back to his seat, he sees O’Hehir and greets him, saying, “Oh, hello,” while they both laugh and shake hands.

Ironically, O’Hehir originally auditioned for the role of Ron Swanson before he received the call to read for the role of Gary.

“My agents didn’t know whether I should do it or not because they were told they didn’t know what was going to happen with the character and they didn’t want me to feel like an extra.” he told Independent In 2024.

“I thought, these are the people who did this Office And I knew what happened to Kevin, Phyllis, Stanley, Angela. All those side characters became major players. For me it was a thoughtless thing to do. I said: ‘I’ll risk it.’

While promoting his memoir, Welcome to Pawnee, O’Hare talks about getting things done in 2024 parks and Recreation.

O’Hare said, “I’ve seen some ‘showbiz’ craziness over the years. I’ve been on sets where tensions were high and morale was low.” “then came parks and RecreationI have never experienced such kindness and collaboration with other actors, writers, crew and producers.”
