NIA files ‘Dunki’ charge a sheet against two in case of human trafficking

New Delhi, October 2 (IANS) National Investigation Agency (NIA) has charged two accused in relation to human trafficking from India to America through ‘Dunki’ route.

The NIA has accused the accused, Sunny and Shuhal Sandhal aka Deep Hundi of human trafficking and cheating.

Sunny, a resident of Dharmashala in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh and Sandhal of Piragari in Delhi, were arrested in July this year, which was about three months after the main accused, Gagandip Singh alias Goldi’s national capital was arrested from Tilak Nagar area.

The case was initially registered by the police at the District Taran, Goindwal Police Station in District Taran, Punjab under the relevant sections of the Indian Trust Code and the Punjab Travel Professionals (Regulation) Act 2014, and then re -registered by the NIA on 13 March.

During the interrogation of the accused, it was revealed that Sunny was an ‘Donkar’ actively involved in human trafficking through the ‘Dunki’ route.

The statement said that in Mexico from 2021 to 2023, Sunny provided the facility to cross the illegal border with Goldie and others and illegally detained the victims.

Sunny received payment through Havildar and bank transfer. Even after returning to India in 2023, he continued to coordinate the logistics, managed the Havildar transaction, and sent the victims directly via Dunky Marg.

Delhi -based hawala agent, Sandh, Human Trafficking Syndicate was engaged in illegal fund transfer, led by Goldie and his colleagues.

NIA investigation revealed that Shubam collected money from Indian customers and sent it abroad using the Havildar network.

Sandru, as part of the illegal immigration racket, was involved in managing and transferring illegal funds throughout India, Mexico and America.

Investigation is going on against other accused in the case.

The investigating agency is also working to eliminate similar illegal smuggling syndicates involved in cheating and exploiting innocent people with false promises of a legal visa.
