Ranchi, September 26 (IANS) National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a second supplementary charge sheet against two persons against two persons in the case of a CPI terrorist conspiracy, including explosives and other increasing material in Jharkhand.
The accused, from West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand, has been charged under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and illegal activities (prevention) Act of Budru Padam alias Rohit Padam of Chhattisgarh.
A charge sheet was presented before the NIA Special Court in Ranchi. According to the NIA, the investigation highlighted a cash of buried goods in the forest area between villages Hasipi and Rajbhasa in West Singhbham.
In the seized materials, Rs 10.5 lakh cash, walkie-talkie set, a Samsung tablet, a power bank, a radio set, levy collection receipts, gelatin rods, and other equipment are used in Maoist operations.
These discoveries were revealed by Rajesh Degam, who were charged in July 2025. The original case was registered by the local police against five persons in March 2024, marking the commencement of a comprehensive investigation into Maoist activities in the region.
Nia’s investigation revealed that Jaapal Degam and Budru Padam were active members of the banned CPI (Maoist) organization.
He allegedly played an important role in planning terrorist acts, organizing meetings, withdrawing money from contractors and traders and facilitating the weapons movement.
The agency also found evidence that the accused gave shelter to the group’s armed cadres, which forwarded its violent agenda.
The case highlights the constant threat by the Maoist rebels in Jharkhand and neighboring states. NIA officials confirmed that the investigation was moving forward, furthering the network to move forward and to bring all the conspirators to justice.
This underlines the agency’s continuous efforts to prevent the leftist extremism of the development agency and ensure national security through coordinated intelligence and enforcement operations.
