Nia charge sheet 11 accused in case of Punjab police station attack

New Delhi, October 4 (IANS) National Investigation Agency (NIA) has charged 11 accused in April 2025 in the April 2025 case related to the BKI-Orchestrated rocket, who promotes Grenade (RPG) terror attack at the Fort Lal Singh Police Station in Batla, Punjab, said an official.

All 11 accused persons are currently under arrest. According to a statement, he has been charged in the charge sheet filed before the NIA Special Court, Mohali, Punjab under various provisions of BNS 2023, UA (P) Act, Arms Act and Explosives Acts Act.

Another 11 accused, identified in the case, are still absconding.

“The accused Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist organization’s foreign-based handlers, ie Harpreet Singh @ Happy Pasia, Mannu Agwan and Gurprati Singh @ Gopi Nawasherian claimed late responsibility for the approved on the night of April 6 this year. Investigation by the NIA, who handled the case from the Punjab Police in May, revealed that the conspiracy was directed by foreign-based terrorist operators who exploited family relations and other weaknesses.

The statement said that he used social media platforms to make and recruit weak youth in Punjab to highlight terrorism against India.

An official said that the NIA has continued investigation of the case under Section 193 (9) BNSS in an attempt to nab any other unknown conspirators involved in the attack.

The NIA is the country’s Central Counter Terrorism Law Enforcement Agency, which works to investigate crimes that threatens India’s sovereignty and security.

Established under the National Investigation Agency Act, 2008, the main function of NIA is to handle cases related to terror, human trafficking, fake currency notes and acts of other specified crimes.
