New Hyderabad Police Commissioner says that drug men’s will be dealt with iron hand

Hyderabad, September 30 (IANS) Hyderabad new Police Commissioner VC Sajjar on Tuesday claimed that the police would deal with the danger of drugs with iron hand.

Addressing a press conference after assuming office, he said that Drugs was the biggest problem faced by Hyderabad, which is the fastest growing city in the country.

He said that the drug is destroying the future of the youth, the police will deal with it firmly.

The previous drug related matters will be fully reviewed, returning to the root network, and legal action will be taken against all the people involved.

Sajjanar said that Hyderabad-Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-New) team would be further strengthened and awareness campaigns like “Not to Drugs” will intensify throughout the city.

Expressing concern over cyber crimes, especially those who targeted senior citizens, highlighted scams such as “digital arrest” and stock market fraud. To combat these dangers, awareness programs will be organized in colonies, apartments and bastis.

He announced that “Peepal Welfare Policing” would be the top priority. He believes that this new approach will go a long way to ensure the safety and welfare of the citizens of Hyderabad. Focus areas will include maintenance of law and order, traffic and road safety, safety of women and children, adoption of AI-based technology, prevention of cyber and financial crimes, 24/7 civil services and police personnel.

The Police Commissioner also asked for adulteration of food as a serious health threat, assuring strict legal action against those involved in such activities.

He also said that traffic problems in the city are becoming more complicated with the increasing number of vehicles. “With the decrease in GST, the number of vehicles has increased. We will set long -term targets to solve traffic issues and save the valuable time of citizens on the roads. Special attention will be paid to drugs and drive matters. People driving under the influence of alcohol are like transferring suicidal bombs on our roads. Such acts will not be tolerated,” they said.

The gentleman said that crimes against women and children will be dealt with the most strictly.

He also underlined the unique identity of Hyderabad as a city of communal harmony: “Hyderabad is synonymous with peace and communal Amity. This historical city is known for its unity in diversity. We will continue to strengthen Ganga-Jamuni Tehjeeb culture.”

Highlighting the importance of police welfare, he said that the department gives a top priority to the good of Hyderabad police personnel. Officers and employees offering extraordinary services will be duly recognized and rewarded.
