Ms Gaudoin cited multiple sources who told her that Baroness Thatcher was involved with someone else “very early in her parliamentary career”. The author claimed that she was later “probably” involved with Sir Humphrey Atkins, MP for Spelthorne.

One source cited by Ms Gaudoin was former Conservative minister Jonathan Aitken. Asked about an affair with Sir Humphrey, Mr Aitken said: “There were rumors to that effect at the time. His good looks might have attracted her, but his political mind was hopeless.”

Lord Moore, who wrote Baroness Thatcher’s autobiography, told many times He saw “no evidence to support” the Atkins rumor.
He said, “I’ve heard the Atkins rumor in the past… My own belief is that it’s unlikely to disappear. I’ve never heard the Tim Bell rumor before. Again, I think it’s unlikely to disappear.”
At the Cheltenham event, Ms Gaudoin said Baroness Thatcher was “normalising women’s power”.
He said, “There’s an element among women that really doesn’t like him just because they don’t like him. I think we really owe him a great deal.”
He further said, “Many of the people I spoke to said that he [Thatcher] She was sexier than she looked.
“A lot of people said there was definitely a panic when she walked into the room.”
