Nepal Embassy, ​​KIIT coordinate with the government for “thorough investigation” after the student’s death

After the death of a Nepali student at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Odisha, the Nepal Embassy in New Delhi expressed condolences and said that they were coordinating for “intensive investigation” with India’s Foreign Ministry (Mea), Odisha Government, Police and University.

Sharing a post on X, Nepal Embassy wrote, “Insect, Nepali student in Odisha is deeply saddened by the tragic death of student Prisha Sah. Heartfelt condolences to their family.”

The post said, “Prayer for her eternal peace. We are closely coordinated with mea, odisha govt., Police and University for intensive investigation.”

Earlier in the day, Nepal Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba had said that diplomatic initiative has been initiated to investigate the student’s death in KIIT.

In a post on X, the Foreign Minister said, “Soon after the incident, the Ministry of External Affairs launched diplomatic initiative to investigate the truth of the incident through the Government of India, Odisha Government and the Nepali Embassy officials in Delhi.”

In addition, Deuba also expressed condolences to the family of Nepali student, Prisa Saha and said, “For the incident of Nepali student Prisa Sah, who studied at the University of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Odisha, made the deceased sad in her hostel room.

Sah, a first year of B.Tech, Students of Computer Science, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), was studying at Bhubaneswar, found dead inside his hostel room on Thursday evening.

This is the second incident of the death of a Nepali female student at the same university within three months. Earlier in February, Prakrit Lamsal also took his life in the same university. (AI)
