Neom’s floating city named Oxagon is set to be “the world’s largest floating structure.”

The city will be built in the southwestern region of Neom in Saudi Arabia, which is the new megacity of the future and will be 33 times the size of New York City, according to Saudi officials’ claims.

The Red Sea, which is an average of 500 meters deep, is where half of the Oxagon will float.

The city is expected to be powered entirely by renewable energy and will utilize the Internet of Things, artificial and predictive intelligence as well as robotics. With the help of this technology it will create “a seamlessly integrated, intelligent and efficient supply chain”.

Oxagon is a key part of a larger initiative known as Saudi Vision 2030. The plan was created by the Saudi Crown with the aim of weaning the country’s economy away from heavy dependence on oil.

As part of this transformational agenda, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and Mohammed bin Salman have unveiled 47 major projects, of which Oxagon is one of them.

To ensure stability and promote innovation within the country, this project emphasizes the unwavering commitment of the leadership.
