Hemant Wadhawana, a local wildlife activist, said he had gone to the site after construction workers reported that a crocodile, weighing about 150 kg, was trapped in the pit of an under-construction pillar in Maretha village on Monday.
He said a forest department team immediately arrived and deployed a crane to take out the reptile.
