New Delhi, November 14 (IANS) JDU national spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan on Friday expressed confidence by claiming a decisive victory of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Bihar assembly elections.

Expressing optimism about the results, Ranjan told IANS, “From the first round of counting today itself, you will see that the NDA is heading towards a landslide victory. Once again the NDA government will be formed, Nitish Kumar will become the Chief Minister of Bihar and the opposition will be completely defeated.”

Meanwhile, BJP candidate Raju Kumar Singh also exuded confidence, saying, “Everyone knows that we will be victorious in the counting of votes. We have been serving the people for the last 20 years and will continue to do so in the future also.”

Counting of votes for all 243 assembly constituencies of Bihar is going on amid elaborate and multi-layered security arrangements. Counting of votes began at 8 am with postal ballots, followed by Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) counting at 8:30 am. Tight security cover has been imposed at 46 counting centers in 38 districts of the state.

The inner security perimeter around the strongroom and counting hall is being managed by the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), while the outer perimeter is under the surveillance of Bihar Police and district-level police teams. Besides, more than 106 companies of security personnel have been deployed from outside the state. The strongrooms, where EVMs and VVPATs are sealed, have been under constant 24/7 CCTV surveillance since the completion of polling.

To ensure transparency, candidates and their authorized agents have been allowed to monitor areas outside the internal security perimeter. The Election Commission has ensured that the counting process is conducted fairly by carefully following the protocols of postal ballots, EVM and VVPAT verification.

As the state awaits the results, political parties and their supporters are closely watching the counting phase in hopes of a clear verdict that will shape Bihar’s government for the coming term. The high-stakes election has attracted nationwide attention, with security, transparency and adherence to procedures given top priority.
