Patna, Oct 8 (IANS) As the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) finalizes its seat-sharing arrangements for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections, alliance leaders have reiterated that all constituent parties will remain united and fight the elections with full strength.
This comes amid key allies – Union ministers Chirag Paswan and Jitan Ram Manjhi – demanding fair share of seats for their respective parties, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and Hindustan Awam Morcha (HAM).
It is being told that Chirag Paswan is demanding about 40 seats, while Manjhi is pressing for at least 15 seats.
The seat-sharing formula has not been officially announced yet.
BJP MP and former Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, speaking to IANS, dismissed speculations of discord within the alliance, saying, “The NDA as a whole is and will remain united.”
JDU national spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan said there is “no confusion” among NDA allies.
Speaking to IANS, he said, “Parties have certain expectations in seat sharing and the distribution is decided through logical discussions between the leadership of all parties. There is no confusion anywhere and the official announcement will be made very soon.”
Union Minister of State Nityanand Rai also rejected talks of any rift, emphasizing the alliance’s shared commitment to the progress of Bihar.
“The NDA has people who care about the development of Bihar and the future of its children and citizens. To ensure their well-being and happiness, India has accelerated the pace of development in Bihar, leading to significant progress in various sectors,” he said.
BJP MP Satish Chandra Dubey also dismissed rumors of tension between the allies.
Speaking to IANS, he said, “It is not so. The NDA in Bihar stands together with mutual understanding.
