New Delhi, Nov 11 (IANS) The National Commission for Women has announced a two-day mega public hearing titled ‘National Commission for Women – Aapke Dwar’ to directly address the grievances of women at the grassroots level.
Scheduled for November 13 and 14, 2025, the event will begin at 11:00 am daily at the School of Management, Gautam Buddha Nagar University in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar will personally monitor the proceedings along with the members of the Commission. District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police and other senior administrative and law enforcement officials of Gautam Buddha Nagar will actively participate to ensure prompt on-spot resolution of complaints.
The initiative aims to resolve long pending cases and provide immediate relief to women facing domestic violence, workplace harassment, dowry disputes, violation of property rights or any type of gender-based discrimination.
Women from Gautam Buddha Nagar and neighboring districts, including Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Hapur and areas of Delhi NCR, are encouraged to participate in the Commission and present their issues directly.
Speaking at the outreach programme, NCW stressed its commitment to make justice accessible and timely. A senior official said, “We want every woman to know that the Commission stands with them. This public hearing is a step towards bringing institutional support to their doorstep.”
Cases requiring legal intervention will be dealt with expeditiously in coordination with local police and district authorities. Follow-up mechanisms will be established to monitor the implementation of the resolutions.
The Commission has urged community organizations, resident welfare associations and women self-help groups to organize affected persons to ensure maximum reach. This is the latest in a series of proactive measures taken by the NCW under its current leadership to decentralize grievance redressal and strengthen enforcement of women’s rights in urban and semi-urban areas.
With rising cases of gender violence in NCR, the hearing is expected to see significant participation and set an example for other districts to emulate.
