More than 47 million people watched at least parts of five games in the United States ABC and ESPNan increase of 45% over last year. The average number of game viewers was 5.5 million, an increase of 4% over the same period last year.
cleveland-New York The game was the most-watched Christmas game ever to begin at noon ET, averaging 6.4 million viewers. The San Antonio-Oklahoma City game was the most-watched Christmas Day game in the 2:30 p.m. time slot since 2017, and the Dallas-Golden State game was the most-watched game in the 5 p.m. time slot since 2019.
Additionally, the Alliance said it was the “most viewed brand on social media” over Christmas, with its content generating 1.6 billion views. That’s a 23% increase from Christmas 2024.
