New Delhi, 6 October (IANS) on Monday commissioned the shallow water craft of the shallow water of the second submarine war, for the second submarine war, in a formal program held at the naval docktanam, Visakhapatnam.

The ceremony was presided over in the presence of Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendaharkar, Flag Officer Commanding-In-Chief, Eastern Navy Command, Senior Navy officers, which is said in an official statement in the presence of M / s Hich Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata and dignitaries of eminent citizens.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest emphasized the strategic importance of indigenously built platforms to strengthen India’s maritime skills and protect national interests.

The commissioning took a major step towards increasing the capacity of the Navy in an anti-submarine war and confirmed India’s commitment to regional peace, security and maritime cooperation, he said.

INS Androth symbolizes a sea ‘aatmanirbhar bharat’ with more than 80 percent indigenous content and underlines the Indian Navy’s continuous efforts in continuously increasing indigenous materials through homegron solutions and innovative technologies.

The statement stated that INS Androth is specifically designed to conduct anti -submarine operations in a length of 77 meters and about 1,500 tonnes, especially in coastal and shallow water.

The vessel is fitted with a state-of-the-art submarine hunter, advanced weapons, sensors and communication systems, which enables it to detect, track and neutralize the dangers of sub-colors with accuracy. It can maintain prolonged operations in shallow water and is technically equipped with advanced machinery and control systems, it said.

Operated by the three waterJet propulsion systems operated by the marine diesel engine, INS Androth is extremely agile and stage. The official statement stated that its capabilities extend to marine surveillance, discovery and rescue, coastal defense missions and low -intensity marine operations (limones), making it a versatile platform for literal operations.

The commission of INS Androth adds an important punch to the ASW capabilities of the Navy, especially in combating the dangers generated by opponents in Literal. The ship’s induction underlines the vigorous contribution of GRSE in strengthening the marine security architecture of the Navy, while underlining the emphasis on the Navy’s indigenization, innovation and capacity increase.

The statement stated that the ship is named after Androth, the northern island of the Lakshadweep group, known for historical and strategic importance in India’s piracy domains.

INS Androth’s induction is a milestone in a modern, self -reliant Navy visit of India, capable of protecting the country’s marine interests in the spectrum of conflict.

Following the formal ceremony, the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command visited various sections of the ship, and was provided with a detailed briefing on construction journey and new indigenous abilities of the ship.

He also interacted with the ship’s commission crew and GRSE officials.
