Naveen Patnaik slam the Odisha government on cancellation of CPSE 2024, it is called governance failure

Bhubaneswar, 30 September (IANS) Odisha Leader Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday slammed the state government on cancellation of Joint Police Service Examination (CPSE), 2024, called it a systematic failure of the government.

Taking his X handle, the Chairman of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) shocked the announcement about the cancellation of CPSE, 2024 organized for the recruitment of sub -inspectors for the Odisha Police.

“It was surprised to know that another recruitment exam was canceled in #Disha today. Joint Police Service Examination 2024, which was to be recruited by sub-trends, was canceled by the Odisha Police Recruitment Board today. It was a deadly and after the leakage of the question paper after the fourth recruitment examination since July 2025.

The BJD supremo in his post also highlighted the recruitment examinations that have been canceled since July 2025. He revealed that on July 20, a special OTET-2025 was canceled after a widespread outrage of a paper leak.

The Odisha Sub-Ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) was scheduled for its Joint Recruitment Examination (RI, ARI, Amin, ICDS Supervisor, SFS) between 1 August to 4 September, which was determined on July 30 citing irregularities in the initial process.

Patnaik also said that on August 22, the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha again postponed the special OTET -2025 examination, citing “unavoidable circumstances”, disappointing aspirations.

He asked the state government to immediately fix the troubled pattern in Odisha’s recruitment system to restore people’s confidence.

“These frequent disruption highlights a disturbed pattern in Odisha’s recruitment system, reduce faith and affect millions of job seekers across the state. All these points go to the systemic failure of governance, which the BJP-led #Disha government needs to recover immediately to restore the trust of the people,” Patnaq appealed.

The Odisha Police Recruitment Board canceled the written examination of 2024 on Tuesday (CPSE), which was to be held on 5 and 6 October.

The board postponed the examination on Monday night on suspicion of miscreants after a bus carrying more than 100 candidates to Hyderabad in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh.

The Odisha Police’s Crime Branch has allegedly initiated an investigation to find out why a large number of candidates are being taken to Hyderabad, the person responsible for this and the possible participation of any board members and any board members.
