Nationwide bus strike threatens salaries and conditions

Bus drivers are threatening a series of nationwide Strikes In disputes on salary and conditions.

About 7,500 members unions of Unite are either striking or voting to take industrial action in areas including Birconhead, Briton, Bristle, CardiffChorley, London, Manchester, NuclearPreston, Stoke and Swindon.

“Fatigue, lack of toilets, misuse and even attacks are a daily phenomenon,” he said.

“Unite bus workers will fight teeth and nails until wages and conditions will improve in the entire region.”

Unite has earlier reported that bus drivers face misuse at work, the workers reported that the number of incidents was increasing.

The Sangh is also campaigning for resting to reduce fatigue, toilet facilities and improvement for shift patterns.

According to the union, bus drivers are more likely to face mental and physical sick health than other businesses due to the stressful nature of the job.

Unite said the attacks that include 600 bus workers in Cardiff and Newcastle will proceed if the deals are rejected.

Since 2023, there have been 167 bus disputes in Unite, including 42,626 workers.
