Srinagar, June 15 (KDC): In a push to carry forward the ground development in Jammu and Kashmir, the Nalwala Foundation was given the two most prominent leaders of the region- President of the National Conference, Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have been assured of support – during a series of meetings held in Srinagar.
According to a statement, Hussain, the head of the Nalwala Foundation, presented the widespread development agenda of the organization, which was to be uplifted to the undertaking communities, especially in Baramalla, Bandipora and Kupwara districts of North Kashmir. A major attraction of discussion was the proposed installation of tubewells in remote villages which are struggling with a rapid shortage of clean drinking water.
Dr. Farooq Abdullah welcomed the initiative and assured Mr. Hussain for his full support, including facilities in obtaining government land to ensure smooth and timely execution of the tubewell project.
Later in the day, Mr. Hussain met Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who reviewed the widespread human work of the Foundation in the valley. This includes provision of food kit distribution, support for handcart vendors, housing assistance, and mandatory winter such as traditional ferry and blankets.
The Chief Minister appreciated the constant engagement of the Foundation with the people of Kashmir and assured the government’s cooperation to expand its reach and influence.
“These initiatives are not only about the infrastructure. They are about to restore dignity, existence and hope,” Mr. Hussain said, expressing gratitude for the “heavy support” extended by the two leaders.
Nalwala Foundation- Working in areas of health, education, livelihood and disaster relief- IMS to start tubewell installation in the next six months. Thousands of rural families are expected to directly benefit from this project. (KDC)
