Myanmar hit 7.7-7.7-Criminal earthquake in 11 days after earthquake

However, the United Nations, America, India, European Union, many other countries and international organizations have sent assistance and rescue teams for earthquake victims in Myanmar.

India launched ‘Operation Brahma’, put itself as the first respondent in accordance with its ‘Neberhood First’ and ‘Act East’ policies.

Under the operation, India has sent tonnes of medical supply and relief material to Myanmar.

PM Narendra Modi expressed deep grief over the disaster and expressed the condolences of India directly to the President and Prime Minister of Myanmar’s State Administration Council, Senior General Min Aung Holting, confirmed India’s commitment to assist Myanmar during this crisis.

On 4 April, PM Modi met Halling on the banks of the Bimstec Summit in Bangkok and discussed the situation after the devastating earthquake in the country, including India’s ongoing efforts under ‘Operation Brahma’ to provide humanitarian assistance, disaster relief and medical aid to Myanmar.

The senior general also thanked India’s assistance efforts. The Prime Minister said that, as the first respondent, the India stands with Myanmar at this time of crisis and is ready to deploy more physical support and resources if necessary.
