‘My restaurant made only 50 rupees’: ‘Go back’ slogan among BJP MP Kangana Ranaut to Manali flood-hit victims

Manali, September 18 (IANS) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mandi and actress Kangana Ranaut’s Lok Sabha MP on Thursday told the local people in their Lok Sabha constituency that their restaurant had sold a total of Rs 50, when the people there expressed anger about them not to ask about their good, when the monsoon became a hit.

Trying to convince the residents of Pallikuhal city near the tourist resort in Himachal Pradesh, his business in Manali was also impressed by anger, the BJP MP said, “My restaurant did a business of only 50 rupees here, while I have to pay 15 lakh rupees in salary. Please understand my situation too. I am a human, a single woman.”

The BJP leader’s claims came after the local people, raised slogans like “Go Back, You Are Late” against him, intentionally upset with the “ignorance” of his constituency.

The MP said, “Do not attack me as if I am the queen of England.

Local people voiced their anger at its delayed arrival in disaster-hit areas, and disaster has severely affected their hotels and horticulture businesses.

“My house is here. My whole business and land is here. I have also been damaged. The whole roads have fallen. Earlier, we used to leave to study out and earn out. Recently, we found big projects, but the disaster has separated them,” Ranaut said.

He asked, “You are attacking me instead of asking questions. Don’t attack, ask questions. I am also from here. If you come to scratch me, how will I work?”

Hot arguments were also seen when the BJP MP along with his party leaders tried to calm the residents, and the police had to intervene.

Earlier, Kangana Ranaut visited the disaster-affected areas of Solang and Palachan in Manali subdivision and interacted with the affected people.

Former Mandi MLA Govind Singh Thakur told him that 15 families have been taken to safe places after declaring their houses unsafe due to torrential rains.

In July, Kangana Ranaut faced local anger in her constituency in July, which was not responding immediately after the disaster.

He visited villages in the Nakan assembly constituency of Mandi Lok Sabha, where nine people from two families were swept away on the night of 1 July.

At that time Kangana Ranaut made a comment saying, “I have no money for disaster relief or catch any cabinet post. MPs have the work that is limited to Parliament. We are very small in the scheme of things. But, I can help receive disaster funds from the center.”

Himachal Pradesh is re -running under the devastation of 424 deaths across the state with the disappearance of 45 people from 424 June to 18 September from 45 September.

A total of 113 people died in Mandi and Kullu districts during this period, both parts of Mandi constituency of Kangana Ranaut.

BJP MP is the owner of a magnificent cottage between an apple orchard in Manali.

Its hut is located in the village of Bhambla near Hamirpur city of Himachal Pradesh, about 200 km from the state capital Shimla.
