One of the family members, Kyle Kramer, told Age Family that Santa was a popular attraction for families taking photos.
“People know it’s Santa’s tree,” he said, adding that thieves cut the fence to access the inflatable and marks on the gravel suggest the decoration was likely deflated and pulled out.
“Who steals Santa? I mean, it’s Christmas time,” he said, adding that the decoration would be easier to spot in the field if thieves blow it up.
Kramer also expressed surprise that people were successful in stealing the giant Santa, “It would take a lot of people. Four of our guys had trouble putting it up.”
Security footage is currently being reviewed by neighbors to help identify the thieves. Yesenia Feliciano, a neighbor who lives near the tree, said her security camera saw Santa around 7 p.m. on Saturday, but he was gone by 6:45 a.m. the next day.
The actual theft was not captured on his camera and Phoenix police are investigating.
Kramer’s website says tree site It was founded in 1982 when a family member thought it would be a good idea to sell some excess trees from the farm.
“We sell four varieties of Christmas trees that are grown locally on our family farm in Mount Angel. The trees take 4-15 years to grow,” the website said.
