Murshidabad (West Bengal):
Eleven women living in Murshidabad’s Lanark village donated Rs 11,000 to support Congress’ Behrampore Lok Sabha candidate Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The women pooled their resources and donated a total of 11,000 rupees to Mr. Chaudhry’s campaign on Sunday.
The funds come from their household budgets, agricultural activities, income from raising goats, and even their husbands’ day’s wages.
The Congress on March 21 announced the third list of 56 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, including Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury from Berhampore in West Bengal, who has been contesting since 1999 Represent the state.
The Lok Sabha elections for the 42 assembly constituencies in West Bengal are scheduled to be held in seven phases, starting on April 19 and ending on June 1. Counting of votes will take place on June 4.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) won 22 seats, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 18 of the state’s 42 assembly seats. The Indian National Congress (INC) is limited to two seats.
