A tribal man was brutally attacked and forced to pose as a ‘murga’ (chicken) in Bettur in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday. The Bajrang Dal group allegedly committed caste discrimination and physical violence against the victims.

The incident, which took place near Subhas School in the city, was caught on camera and its disturbing footage went viral on social media.

Uikey, who works as a DJ, narrated the horrific experience and said that around 11.30 pm, when he was on his way home, Chanchal and his friends from Bajrang Dal came to pick him up. “They physically and verbally attacked me and used casteist language against me,” Yoki said.
The video went viral on social media after Congress leader Jitu Patwari exposed the incident in a post on X. This prompted the police to take immediate action and file an FIR against Chanchal Rajput and three other accused.
Betul Superintendent of Police Siddarth Chaudhary said PTI“Information was received last night about a viral video in which a teenager was beaten. We contacted the victim, Raju Uikey. An FIR has been registered in the case. One of the four persons involved in the case has been identified by the victim.”
Chowdhury said investigation into the matter was on and the accused would be arrested soon.
