Mumbai: One dead in level-4 fire in Kamathipura restaurant, 16 fire engines on the spot

A level-4 fire broke out at 2:00 am at a restaurant in Kamathipura, Grant Road, killing at least one person. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), 16 fire tenders and two lines from a high-rise building were deployed to extinguish the fire.

“The burnt body of an unidentified male was found in the bathroom of the said premises and was taken to JJ Hospital. “Inquiries about any other injured or missing persons are ongoing.”

The cause of the fire is not clear at present. A nearby mall and a high-rise building have been evacuated due to the flames.
