Mumbai Indians appoint Luke Wood to replace injured Jason Behrendorff

Five-time champions Mumbai Indians on Monday named England left-arm fast bowler Luke Wood to replace injured Australian Jason Behrendorff for the upcoming Indian Premier League.

According to a statement from IPL, Wood will join MI for Rs 50 lakh.

“Mumbai Indians (MI) have appointed Luke Wood to replace the injured Jason Behrendorff for the upcoming 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL),” IPL said in a statement.

Wood has played 5 T20I matches for England apart from two ODIs and has 8 T20I wickets to his name.

MI bowlers Dilshan Madushanka and Gerald Coetzee are also facing serious questions ahead of their first match against Gujarat Titans on March 24.
