Mumbai is gearing up for an exciting addition to its public transport system, with Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) finalizing the routes for the city’s first public transport system bus Services on Mumbai Trans Harbor Link (MTHL) – Atal Setu.
The newly opened S-145 route runs between Konkan Bhavan, Belapur and World Trade Center, crossing the Atal Setu river. According to Mid-day.com, it will stop at Sai Sangam, Targhar, Ulwe node, Aai Tarumata, Kamdhenu Oaklands, MTHL, Eastern Freeway, CSMT, Churchgate stations and end at Cuffe Parade.
Initially, there will be two morning shifts from Belapur to World Trade Center and vice versa in the evening.
BEST officials are working to finalize tolls and refine route and fare structures. We’ve conducted a trial run with bus enthusiasts and experts to solicit feedback and review.
Former Union Transport and Shipping Minister Milind Deora, who recently joined the Shiv Sena, has urged the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to create a “bus priority lane” on the newly opened MTHL.
The launch of the S-145 bus route is a major achievement for Mumbai’s public transport system, providing commuters with convenient and efficient connectivity across the MTHL. BEST plans to expand services to meet the growing transportation needs of residents and visitors.
