Scar and Spencer Hackers Retailer’s boss allegedly sent an derogatory email, about hack and demand for ransom payment.
MS An email was sent to CEO Stuart Machin On 23 April from a hacker group called Dragonforce, using an employee’s email account, which confirms that British High Street Retailer Was targeted by Ransomware Group, something they have refused to accept.
The emails viewed and reported by the BBC states: “We have marched from China to the UK and have mercilessly raped for your company and encrypted all the servers.
“Dragon wants to talk to you so please go to the head [our darknet website],
A dark link shared in an email associated with a portal for dragonforce victims to interact on ransom fees. The criminal organization said: “Let’s start the party. Give us the message, we will make it fast and easier.”
According to the BBC, he ended the email with an image of dragon breathing fire.
The Blackmail message allegedly consisted of a racist term and was sent to Mr. Machin and several other officials.
Also, with a boast about installing ransomware in M&S IT system to make it useless, the hackers said that they have stolen private data of millions of customers.
Three weeks later, M&S informed its customers that their data could be stolen. The email was clearly sent using an employee account of an employee of IT company Tata Company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which has provided IT services to M&S for more than a decade.
The IT worker had an M&S Email address, but it is a payment TCS employee. It is believed that he himself was hacked in the attack. The IT company has earlier stated that it is investigating whether it was an entrance for a cyber attack and since the BBC was told that the email was not sent from its system and has nothing to do with violation.
M&S told Independent: “We cannot comment about details or speculation on cyber phenomena, and we are not advised.”
