MP: Two die, Goddess Durga Idol immersion near Ujjain during a missing

Ujjain, 2 October (IANS) killed two children in a tragic incident during the Navratri immersion ritual, left the city of Badnagar in mourning, a tractor-trolley carrying devotees after a tractor-trolley drowned in the Chambal River near Narasingha Ghat in Ingoria Police Station in Ujjain district.

The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon, as a group of worshipers gathered to sink the idol of Goddess Durga at the conclusion of the festival.

According to preliminary reports, the tractor was parked near Riverbank, while devotees performed the final rituals.

A 12 -year -old boy, who is allegedly excited by ceremonies, climbed into a tractor cabin and inadvertently replaced the ignition key. The vehicle suddenly moved forward, broke through the bridge’s railing, and drowned in the river, pulling the trolley and its passengers to the currently growing.

Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos and frustration as the tractor drowned about 20 feet in the river. Devotees, including children, women and the elderly, were thrown into water.

Riverbank cries to help in the Riverbank as the villagers participated to save those who struggled to live.

Local residents, police and SDRF teams launched an immediate rescue operation, managing 12 people from drowning.

A senior police officer said, “Two rescued died due to their injuries at Gautampura Hospital.”

The deceased has been identified as 16 -year -old Prithvi Raj and 8 -year -old dynasty. Two other children, 10 -year -old Amish and 6 -year -old Ans, are in critical condition and have been referred to for a high medical facility in Indore.

A person, identified as Shubam, is still missing, and continues to operate in the divers river, the official said.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has increased financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh to the families of the deceased. A picture was taken before the accident, showing the children to bathe in the river and ride on a trolley, which has gone viral on social media, intensifies public grief and anxiety.

The image is a reminder of how soon the celebration turned into destruction.

Additional Superintendent of Police Abhishek Ranjan called the incident “extremely tragic” and assured that all possible efforts are being made to detect the missing and support the injured.

The accident has provoked calls for strict security protocols during religious processions, especially those who include heavy vehicles near water bodies.
