Bhopal, Oct 22 (IANS) The Prime Minister Street Vendors Atmanirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme, which aims to support street vendors in urban and rural areas, has transformed the lives of hundreds of small shopkeepers and traders across the country.

In Betul district of Madhya Pradesh, there are hundreds of marginalized families who have availed the benefits of PM Swanidhi scheme and today are expressing their gratitude towards the present government for launching the farmer-friendly programme.

Owners and owners of small businesses attribute their success to the subsidized loans under the scheme.

Under the PM Swanidhi scheme, these small businesses are entitled to get a loan of Rs 10,000 for the first time, which they have to deposit without interest. Then they are given a loan of Rs 20,000 and after this they become entitled to get a loan of Rs 50,000 to further their business.

Under the scheme, more than a hundred people are running their businesses in Betul district. Some beneficiaries thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for launching such a scheme for the deprived and downtrodden class people.

There are many retail traders in the city, ranging from cobblers working at chart pakoda stalls, tea sellers selling sugarcane juice, fruit juice sellers and shopkeepers of shoes and readymade garments, who have taken advantage of the scheme to start their businesses and are now taking it to new heights.

All these small businessmen are grateful to the Prime Minister and are praising him a lot.

A beneficiary said, “I took a loan of Rs 10,000 under the PM Swanidhi scheme to start my business. After repaying it, I got a loan of Rs 20,000, and after repaying it, I got a loan of Rs 50,000…”

Another beneficiary said, “I took a loan under PM Swanidhi scheme…I thank the Prime Minister for this scheme.”

Notably, the flagship scheme was recently restructured to increase its coverage and reach the masses.

Under the new provisions, the loan tenure has been extended till March 2030. The total outlay of the scheme is Rs 7,332 crore, and it aims to benefit 1.15 crore beneficiaries, including 50 lakh new beneficiaries.
