Bhopal, Oct 29 (IANS) Madhya Pradesh is all set to celebrate its 70th Foundation Day with a grand three-day celebration named ‘Abhyudaya Madhya Pradesh’ at Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal from November 1 to 3, 2025.
The state government has declared November 1 as a public holiday to encourage wider participation in the festivities, which will showcase the cultural, economic and social journey of the state.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, this year’s theme – “Year of Industry and Employment” – highlights Madhya Pradesh’s developmental progress and commitment towards inclusive growth. Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu and Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal will also participate as chief guests.
Addressing a press conference, Minister of State for Culture and Tourism Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi said the festival is a collaborative effort reflecting the heritage, progress and public spirit of the state. He announced that each district will host parallel programs ensuring grassroots participation of schools, colleges and local artistes.
The main celebrations will begin at 6:30 pm daily, starting with a 2,000-drone show on November 1, reflecting the theme “From Heritage to Development”. This will be followed by “Vishvavand – The Musical Journey of Shri Krishna” performed by 500 artistes and a light concert by Jubin Nautiyal, followed by a firework display.
On November 2, Vishala Cultural Committee of Ujjain will stage the epic play ‘Samrat Vikramaditya’, followed by a performance by Hansraj Raghuvanshi. Due to public demand, the play will be repeated on 3 November, concluding with a concert by Sneha Shankar.
The Mahotsav will also include “One District – One Product” crafts fair, “Swad” indigenous cuisine fair and exhibitions on Develop Madhya Pradesh 2047, Temple of Devlok and Development through Heritage.
Tribal and folk dances like Karma, Bhagoria, Badhaai and Gangaur will be performed on 2nd and 3rd November from 3 pm onwards. Cultural processions including a special parade will be organized on 30th and 31st October.
